User Information

Business Rules

  • If there is not a password column specified, ‘no password’ is used as the password for imported user.
  • However, if there is not a password column specified and the checkbox ‘Generate Password’ is checked, then the system will automatically create a random password for the user.
  • To update this field for existing users, you must map the import using the User_Id column to show which users to update for. When updating and the imported excel value is NULL the existing database value will be kept unless “Generate Password” is checked.

Auto mapping

In order to ensure auto mapping then the column name in the Excel must fit with the given name in import. This name is language dependent as shown:

UK: User_Password

DK: Bruger_Adgangskode

Validation

  • Passwords must not be longer than 50 characters. Error type: ERROR (the import job will not be allowed to be executed)

Notes

  • Since there are more than one way in which a password can be applied to a user, we will here specify the priority in which the Import feature will look for specification:Highest priority: mapped password column: the password of the new or existing user will be set to the password specified in Excel
  • Secondary priority: If there is no mapped password and the ‘Generate Password’ setting is checked the password will automatically be generated and inserted or updated (in case of existing users). Please look at help file for “Generate Password” to learn more.
  • Lowest priority: If importing to a new user and no password exists and the auto-generation of password is disabled, the password will be set to “‘no password’.
