CATI module

Most CATI systems offer similar features, but Catglobe takes the game a bit further by offering un-precented access options and making the utilization of samples more efficient than ever seen before.

Process for setting up CATI

A typical process for carrying out a CATI assignment would start with the creation of a Questionnaire. After that we would need to decide on our sample. With Catglobe's sample builder we have unlimited filtering options and rules to get the perfect sample for our surveys. After this we need to specify what outcomes are available when carrying out interviews. This is done using the Outcome Set feature.

First of all it is important that a supervisor set up the process of calling respondents in the optimal order. This is done in the CATI Online Monitor by adjusting the Next Call Logic rules. For most assignments the default rules will be adequate, but as everywhere in the system, Catglobe also supports companies that have unique needs.

Process of assigning interviewers to CATI assignments

Many companies use part time employees or require flexible meeting hours for employees in their CATI departments. Managing this can be a cumbersome and expensive task. With CG Shifts Manager you can just specify what type of people you need for a job and they will automatically be invited by the system. A supervisor will then update the CATI assignment to include these Interviewers for the dates for which they have signed up, and the interviewing can start. Signing up can happen two places; both in the CATI Online Manager, which is a tool for handling one specific CATI project at a time, or it can happen in the Activity Manager, which is a tool for handling many employees on many different projects at the same time.

But CG CATI recognizes that not all Interviewers should necessarily interview all respondents. It is therefore possibly, but not required, to restrict that certain interviewers only interview certain sample subsets. This can be done using the CATI Online Manager. We can even here dedicate each respondent to specific interviewers. With these features it is possible to ensure that the respondent gets interviewed by the best interviewer based on any criteria we see as important, e.g. language, ethnicity, dialect, interest, or knowledge.

Process of carrying out the Interviews

Since Catglobe is 100% browser-based, your Interviewers can sit in your office, at home, at a clients office or anywhere else you prefer. All they need to do is log in and see what work they have been assigned to. The Interviews are carried out in a simple Interviewing Screen. Supervisors can as easily manage their efficiency and progress as if they were sitting in the same office!

By setting up quotas we can ensure that we will maximize the use of Interviewer time by only asking the exact representative sample that we need. Sample subsets can be deactivated both manually as well as automatically (stratification) at any time without interrupting the ongoing interviews.

As a supervisor you can see exactly how each Interviewer is doing on specific project using CATI Analytics and even move the person real-time between different CATI assignments using the Activity Manager. For the interviewer it will just mean that when he clicks next in his Interviewer Screen he will suddenly start getting a different questionnaire.

Process of finalizing the CATI project

Once the interviews are finished the supervisor can check the time the interviewers have used and approve it for their time registration. This can both be done gradually or at the end of the day using the Activity Manager.

The data from CATI Assignments can be viewed real-time in CG Report or CG Monitor or exported to various formats using CG Export.

The main actors of CATI

The Interviewer: The Interviewer is responsible for interviewing people. She/he will get the information about interviewees through the Interviewing screen and try to call them to carry out an interview using a questionnaire answer sheet.

The Supervisor: The Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the whole interviewing proces, including deciding which samples will be activated for calling, how many people will be called, who will join the interview, who can perform the interviews and who is being called, analyzing the efficiency of the interviewers, setting the quota information and much more.
