Color a specific bar in a bar or float bar series

Data series - Bar series - Series - Fill

To color a specific bar in a bar or float bar series in a bar line chart through the External Style Sheet and Inline Style Sheet editors:

  1. In the External Style Sheet editor, under Data series, select Bar series. In the Inline Style Sheet editor, under Data series, select Series.
  2. In the Series list on the right-hand area, expand the series that contains the bar you want, select the data point associated with the bar, and then find the Fill group of settings on the right side of the area.
  3. If you want the bar to be the same color as the series, select the Use data series settings check box on the right side of the title bar of the group.
  4. If you want the bar to be a different color than the series, clear the Use data series settings check box, and then use the provided settings to color the bar the way you want.

Note: In the inline style sheet of a bar line chart, if you want to decide whether the Fill group of settings of a bar has the same setup as its series, you have to turn off the inheritance mode of that group first so that it does not inherit settings from the external style sheet of the chart. You do this through the Inline Style Sheet editor by clearing the Inherit check box on the right side of the title bar of the group. After that, you can select or clear the Use data series settings check box at will.
