Field: User_Id

Field: User_Id

Type

Number

General Description

User_id column is used to identify existing users in the system. All other import columns will use this field of to identify the exact user to update information for. If you do not specify the User_Id column in your imported MS excel document in step one of the import wizard, then the system will presume that you are adding information for new users. In other words, values in this column must exist on the database; you cannot create new users with specified user ids using this column.

Business Rules

  • All user ids specified in the imported MS excel must exist on the Catglobe database
  • If you do not specify a user_id in step one of the import wizard you will also not be allowed to import data to existing questionnaires. In other words, if you want to import data to existing questionnaires you need to specify both the user_id and questionnaire answer sheet option id (resource project questionnaire id) in one imported row.
  • By selecting this option, ‘Generate Password’ in step two will by default be unchecked as it is not recommended not to update passwords for existing users.
  • User_Id can be combined with a group id without importing any other information. This is one of the most popular ways to add users to groups using import.

Validation

  • User_id must exist in database – an error message stating invalid user_id will be given if you try to put in not-existing values. Error type: ERROR (the import job will not be allowed to be executed)

Notes

  • This is used in all other import columns including: user information, phone number, address information, qualification, points information, and questionnaire data
