Field: Group

Field: Group

Type

Number (unique id pointing at existing group on database)

General Description

All imported users will be put into the specified group when importing. If user is also importing data and a group exist for a user, then the user will be attached to that group and the group will be used as a sample rule.

Import Group

Any

Business Rules

  • Groups used in the imported group column must be existing groups (by id)
  • Importing users to groups can happen in three ways. Either by choosing an existing group in step two of the import wizard, adding a new group in step two of the import wizard, or mapping to a group column in the imported file in step three of the import wizard. The two first ways have highest priority. If any group is specified in step two of the wizard, then you will not be able to map to a group column in step three of the wizard.
  • If we are importing questionnaire data together with the group information, we will check whether or not the specific group is already attached as a sample rule to the questionnaire. If it is, then the user’s questionnaire answer sheet will also be added to that sample rule. If it is not, then the group will be added as a sample rule to the questionnaire and the user’s answer sheet will be added to that newly created sample rule.

Auto mapping

In order to ensure auto mapping then the column name in the Excel must fit with the given name in import. This name is language dependent as shown:

UK: Group

DK: Gruppe

Validation

  • When importing groups using a column in the MS excel file, the system will validate that the User Id actually exists on the database in Catglobe. Error type: ERROR (the import job will not be allowed to be executed).
  • The value stated needs to be an Id and thus, no strings are allowed in the columns imported. Error type: ERROR (the import job will not be allowed to be executed).

Notes

  • It is not required to choose a group when importing users or data. If you choose no group in step 2 and your imported MS excel does not map to a group column, the no group relations will be established. Even if you map to a group column and a cell for one user is empty, this will not create any problem, since the system will just not consider creating group relations for the user in question.
