Syntax

[NUMBER]: An integer value between 8 and 16.

Purpose

This key sets the number of hours after its start date and time that a CATI assignment of an interviewer will be automatically closed. This is useful in situations where an interviewer simply leaves his CATI station without signing officially out, and we want to avoid that his assignment (and thus ability to work on the specific survey) continues in all eternity.

If e.g. a user is assigned as interviewer as survey at 8:00 UTC, then if he has not ended it before 20:00 UTC time, the assignment will automatically close down.

Depending on the business rules of the site with Catglobe installed, it may be set to a low amount, if the company does not accept that users work without breaks for more than a certain number of hours, and at the same time expects all interviewers to meet exactly when the assignment time starts.

Alternatively, we may have an owner of the site, who do not care too much on when users meet and when they take breaks as long as it is between e.g. 7 in the morning and 23 in the evening. In this case we may want to set the CATK setting to e.g. 16 (23 minus 7).

The value is recommended to be between 8 and 16. We recommend 12, which is also the default.
