Voice over IP with CATI

Voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) is a technology used to transmit voice conversations over the Internet. It can be used to make calls to traditional phone network, often at a lower cost per minute. VoIP is used by Catglobe for the CATI module to achieve several important benefits:

  • Interviewers can make free calls as long as they are connected to the Internet; they can work from home without having to worry about reimbursements of phone bills.
  • The system can automatically do the dialing of phone numbers.
  • The system can automatically register certain outcomes that happen on the soft phone.
  • The system can play messages for the interviewers, e.g. greetings and failure messages.
  • The system can record what happens on the soft phone.
  • The supervisor can listen in on calls that are being performed on the soft phones.
  • The supervisor can get an overview of the activity going on at all the currently active soft phones.
